Fire Safety House
The Fire Safety House is a mobile structure that can be taken to
schools and community events to teach children about home fire safety
in a realistic setting. Children are taught lessons on kitchen safety,
smoke detectors, exit drills in the home and how to make an emergency
call. The Fire Safety House is a powerful educational tool in reducing
fires and is a potential life saver.
Juvenile Fire Setters Program
This program was developed to identify behaviors that can lead to fire
setting. Through early intervention we can reduce the number of
youngsters involved in fire setting. The goal of this program is to
identify children and families at risk and to help them access services
designed to eliminate problematic fire setting behavior and prevent its
recurrence.
Smoke Detector Program
This program provides the citizen with smoke detectors for their home
free of charge. Smoke detectors have a proven record of saving lives
when properly installed and operating should a fire occur.
Home Safety Survey
A fire company will conduct at occupants request a home safety survey.
Also, free safety pamphlets' will be provided for the occupant during
the home safety survey.
Fourth Grade Fire Safety Program
Fire Safety Instructors conduct classes with fourth graders in the
school system. The classes are focused on areas of fire safety such as
home escape planning, kitchen safety and smoke detectors.
Community Emergency Response Team ( C.E.R.T. )
The C.E.R.T. Program helps to prepare citizens to take an active role
in emergency preparedness. Training classes provide basic life saving
and life sustaining skills needed immediately following a major
disaster when citizens have to rely on each other.
