What is the Clean City Commission?

The Clean City Commission is a forum in which to influence residents of Hopewell to keep the City clean and beautiful; to educate people about problems and issues related to trash and to encourage recycling and to be concerned about the environment. This Commission is established by City Council action and consists of fifteen (15) Hopewell citizens appointed by the City Council. The purpose of the Board is to instill community pride and increase participation in the Clean City Commission and its activities; also to maintain an on-going recycling program and to coordinate a biannual citywide clean-up program.

 

What are the Clean City Commission's Goals?

  1. Promote litter reduction

  2. Implement educational programs

  3. Provide public information

  4. Community involvement/awareness
