Mission Statement
The mission of the Hopewell Bureau of Fire is to
provide emergency and non-emergency services to enhance the quality of
life by reducing the threat from fire, medical and other types of
dangerous situations.
Strategic Vision
The Bureau of Fire will become a model organization
for providing quality emergency and preventive services in a courteous
and professional manner for cities under 50,000 population. We strive
to provide the highest level of services feasible for the level of
resources allocated to the organization.

Hopewell.
Vision
The Hopewell Police Department is adaptive, participatory, and science based. The Department is
focused on the prevention of crime, fear of crime, roadway safety, and
the overall improvement in the quality of life. The goal of the
Department is to be recognized by its citizens and peers as
professional, effective, and caring.
Employment
The Hopewell Police
Department employs 48 sworn officers, three animal control officers,
eight dispatchers, six school crossing guards, and 14 civilian
employees.
Location
Police headquarters
is located in the City Hall building at 300 North Main Street. Hours of
operation for administration are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through
Friday, except holidays. The Dispatch Center is operational 24 hours a
day, seven days a week. The telephone number for non-emergency service

Emergency Police Services
The
City of Hopewell maintains an Enhanced 911 System that provides the
communications center with phone numbers and addresses from which a
call is being placed. The phone number and location appear on a screen
for the communications officer to view within two seconds after the 911
call is answered. This feature enables communications officers to
dispatch emergency assistance even if the caller is unable to relay
their location.
