Our Mission
“Through partnership with the community, the Department of Development strives to promote excellence in planning, engineering and economic development to encourage the highest quality of development based on sound professional practice to articulate the community vision and fulfill the City’s Mission.”

The Planning Commission consists of five Hopewell citizens appointed by the City Council. Commissioners review issues related to community growth, development and make recommendations to the City Council on rezoning, subdivision policies and land development requests.
