Auxiliary Grant: Aged, blind,
and disabled adults who live in an adult care residence, or an adult
family care home, may be eligible to receive Auxiliary Grant
funds. The Auxiliary Grant, plus other income, is used to pay for
care provided by the adult home.
Energy Assistance: Helps eligible households with the cost of heating/cooling their homes.
Fraud Investigation:
Intent is to collect monies that were over-issued due to agency error
and/or deliberate misrepresentation of case information by clients.
Food Stamps: Debit cards
can be used to buy food and/or seeds and plants to grow food in home
gardens. Alcoholic beverages, tobacco, pet foods, and/or non food
items cannot be purchased with food stamps.
Medicaid: Pays for a
variety of medical services, including prescription drugs, doctor
visits, nursing facility care, and hospital care, for eligible clients.
State and Local Hospitalization: Provides partial payment of hospital bills for income eligible persons.
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF):
Provides temporary financial assistance to eligible families with
children. The families receive a monthly check payment to meet
their basic needs. The amount of the TANF check is based on the
size of the family and the family's income/resources.
TANF Emergency Assistance:
Provides short term, limited financial assistance to TANF families with
children when a fire, or other natural disaster, has destroyed those
things necessary for taking care of a family. Payments can be
made for food clothing, shelter, and/or the repair of households items.
