How To Apply for Employment

You can apply online by clicking on the job title you are interested in and clicking on the “Apply” link. If this is the first time you are applying using our new online job application, you will need to create an account and select a Username and Password. After your account has been established, you can build an application by clicking on the “Build Job Application” link. This application can be saved and used to apply for more than one job opening. Online applications are stored on a secure site. Only authorized employees and hiring authorities have access to the information submitted.

It is important that your application shows all the relevant education and experience you possess. Applications may be rejected if incomplete.

  • Anyone applying for a position with the City of Hopewell must have an email address and an online account. Free email addresses can be obtained from such sites as Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo or AOL. User names and passwords should be kept private and only the applicant should have access to these accounts.
  • Each posted City position requires a fully completed City application. A resume can be saved as an attachment to the application; however, the application serves as the primary source of information received from the applicant
