Debbie Randolph was born at Fort Lee and has lived in the area most of her life. She graduated from HHS in 1977 and went on to receive a BS in business administration and marketing from VCU. She has worked in banking as a regulatory compliance officer for over 20 years and in a variety of financial and business positions prior to that. A small business owner herself, Ms. Randolph served as the Chair for the Hopewell Economic Development Authority for four years. An advocate of economic and community development in Hopewell, Ms. Randolph knows that Hopewell has a lot to offer and big potential as a small community conveniently located on two rivers!
Ms. Randolph has been involved with the Hopewell Citizens for Good Government for many years prior to election, has served on several Boards and Committees in Hopewell, was appointed for 2 years to the State Air Board committee, and has been an active member of the City Point Neighborhood Watch for over 20 years. Ms. Randolph also volunteers for the Old Dominion Boston Terrier Rescue as a foster home which she shares with her own two Boston Terriers. She grew up in the area past the old Crystal Lake in Ward 4 in the home her parents owned for 50 plus years. Ms. Randolph currently lives in her own home in City Point and has for more than 20 years.
Ms. Randolph is the daughter of an Army veteran and respects all veterans for their service. Ms. Randolph’s mother came to this country as an English War Bride and she became a naturalized citizen a few years later. Her sister and other family members all live close by in Richmond.
As a new council member Ms. Randolph is proud to be serving the constituents of Ward 1 with an open and transparent approach to government.
