City of Hopewell Boil Water Notice Update 2

HOPEWELL, VA— Due to a power outage at Virginia America Water’s water treatment plant in Hopewell, parts of the company’s Hopewell district are experiencing low water pressure or no water. Virginia American Water is working as quickly as possible on resolving the problem.

Please continue to conserve water. Virginia American Water issued a boil water advisory as a precautionary measure only for residents in the City of Hopewell, as well as the subdivisions of New Birchett Estates, Cedar Creek, Cedar Creek West, Strafford Woods and Mullberry Woods in Prince George County.

You may start seeing an increase in flow and pressure in your faucet. However, please continue to adhere to the boil water advisory which will be in place for at least 30-40 hours.

We will continue updates as information becomes available through Code Red, Nixle, the City’s Website and the City’s Social Media Outlets.
