City of Hopewell
Chesapeake Bay Phase II Total Maximum Daily Load Action Plan
Available for Public Comment until November 1, 2019

Hopewell, VA.The Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Environmental Quality requires municipalities that meet specific population thresholds to develop a Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) Action Plan. This Action Plan outlines the strategies and Best Management Practices to achieve target stormwater pollutant load reductions to local streams, the James and Appomattox Rivers, and the Chesapeake Bay.

The Phase II Action Plan continues the strategies and Best Management Practices already in place as a result of the Phase I Plan adopted in 2015. The City Stormwater Program is responsible for developing and implementing the plan, and is now accepting comments from citizens.

The Phase II Action Plan can be accessed on the City Stormwater Program webpage: https://hopewellva.gov/chesapeake-bay-local-waters-tmdl-action-plan/.

Comments can be sent to stormwater@hopewellva.gov until November 1, 2019.
