City of Hopewell Opens Warming Shelter

Hopewell, VA.  The City of Hopewell’s Cold Weather Warming Shelter, located at 712 W. Broadway, opened Monday, November 12, 2018 to serve adults without housing.  The Shelter has the capacity to serve up to 20 individuals (ages 18 and older).

The hours of operation are from 8:00 p.m. each night until 8:00 a.m. the following morning, contingent on the availability of volunteers to staff the Shelter.  Volunteers are needed.

If citizens would like to volunteer as shelter monitors and/or to help in other means to support the shelter, please contact Judy Smith.

Monetary donations are always welcomed to support the operation of the Shelter.   Donations can be mailed to First Baptist Church, 401 N. 2nd Avenue, Hopewell, Virginia  23860.
