City of Hopewell Welcomes New Public Information Officer
HOPEWELL, VA — The City of Hopewell is proud to welcome Kemi Okeowo as Public Information Officer. Ms. Okeowo is a graduate of Florida A&M University where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations. She has worked as a Public Relations fellow with Fleishman Hillard International Communications and held local government communications roles in Texas and Virginia.
As public information officer, Ms. Okeowo will provide administrative and special projects support to the Office of the City Manager; assist with the development and implementation of communications, public relations and marketing strategies; and manage media relations for the City of Hopewell.
“Ms. Okeowo comes to us with a great sense of creativity and experience. We are confident she will be a great asset toward developing a high-quality communications strategy for Hopewell,” said March Altman, Hopewell City Manager.
In her new role, Ms. Okeowo will also be responsible for crafting social media messaging, promoting various City activities and programs, and increasing community awareness of departmental services through sound communications practices. Ms. Okeowo started her position with the City of Hopewell on Monday, June 28, 2021.
