Hopewell Cares Program Office Hours Temporarily Suspended

Hopewell, Va., – On November 6, 2020, the City of Hopewell opened the Hopewell CARES office located at 102 South 10th Avenue (former Hopewell Emergency Crew Building). The goal of office hours was to assist residents that had difficulty accessing forms/information over the phone and through the internet. Two programs, the Homeless Emergency Program, and the Rent/Mortgage/Utility Assistance program were both located in the building.

A program employee has tested positive for the coronavirus and out of an abundance of caution, the building closed on Friday, January 8, 2021 for a deep cleaning and sterilization.
Office hours for the Rent/Mortgage/ and Utility Assistance (RMU) appointments are suspended until further notice. However, residents experiencing homelessness may continue to call or request a meeting during office hours.

The City will issue a press release to notify the public when office hours will resume for the RMU program.

If you need assistance with housing (bill assistance or homelessness) because of the COVID-19 pandemic, please contact (804) 215-1107 a customer service representative will assist you.
