**Hopewell Man injured in shooting- Police investigation underway**
[Hopewell, VA]-The Hopewell Police Department is actively investigating and requesting the public’s assistance in a shooting the occurred on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at approximately 11:23 AM. Officers responded to the 2100 block of Berry Street for a report of shots fired. Shortly after officers arrived on-scene, a male subject with multiple gunshot wounds was located at the residence.
The victim was identified as Kwan Terrell Jones, 29 years old of Hopewell. Preliminary investigation revealed the victim was “minding his own business” when unknown offender(s) began shooting at him.
Mr. Jones was uncooperative with detectives and this does not appear to be a random act of violence at this time. Mr. Jones was transported to John Randolph Medical Center with non-life threatening gunshot wounds.
