**Police seek assistance in Hopewell Family Dollar robbery**

[Hopewell, VA]-On Tuesday, December 17 2019 at approximately 9:03 PM, officers responded to a robbery that had just occurred at the Family Dollar store located at 1033 Elm Street. The preliminary investigation revealed the lone offender entered the business, with a firearm described as a rifle approaching the store employee at the counter. The offender stated, “give me the money. After receiving an undisclosed amount of currency, the offender fled the business on foot towards the railroad tracks. No individuals were harmed during the incident.

The offender is described as a W/M, approximately 30 years of age, 6’0” tall with a thin build. He was last seen wearing khaki pants, green poncho jacket with a gray hoody style shirt underneath and a covering over his face.

Attached is an image of the offender captured from the stores security cameras.
