Storm Debris Removal Service Extended for Hopewell Residents

HOPEWELL, VA — The City of Hopewell, Public Works Department has extended its process of removing storm debris vegetation from recent storms. This vegetation clean-up includes tree trunks and limbs that have fallen on private property. To utilize this service, residents are asked to place their debris at the front of their property for collection. Please keep this debris behind the curb or drainage ditches. Storm debris removal does not include leaves and grass clippings.

This removal service is provided at no cost to the residents through Friday, July 16, 2021. To take advantage of the debris removal service, residents must call the Public Works Department at 804-541-2295 to be placed on the list for collection. All debris must be placed to the curb or ditch prior to calling for pick up by City forces. Residents should not place storm debris in alleys due to limited and restricted access.

Residents may also take storm debris to the Citizen’s Convenience Center at no charge. The Citizens Convenience Center is located on Station Street and is open 12:30pm-3:30pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and 8:00am – 4:30pm on Saturdays.
