Water Service Line Break Impacting Western Street in Hopewell – REPAIRS COMPLETED

Hopewell, Va., – UPDATE: These repairs have been completed, and water access has been restored, as of Monday, January 25, 2021 at 2:38pm.

Original Release: Virginia American Water notified the City of Hopewell at 9:40am on Monday, January 25, 2021 of a water service line break impacting residents on Western Street. In order to repair the service line, the water main has to be shut down from Kenwood Avenue to Roanoke Avenue.

An estimated 31 customers will be impacted during this work. Residents may experience low pressure and some discolored water during this time. Virginia American Water will provide bottled water for those residents who are in need of water. Residents can call or text 856-305-1979 and leave a message with their house number, and Virginia American Water will leave water on their porch or near the front door.

This work is expected to be completed by 2pm today, Monday, January 25, 2021. Local traffic will be able to come through while the work is being completed.
