Patience Bennett has been a resident of Hopewell for the past 10 years. Born into a military family, she is the eldest of five children and the daughter of Daniel and Hope Bean of Chesterfield County, Virginia. She is married to Anthony Bennett Jr., a fourth generation Hopewellian, and have three children who attend the Hopewell Public Schools. After serving honorably in the U.S. Army as a Medic for 10 years she and her husband made a decision to raise their family at home in Hopewell. Patience continues to serve the U.S. Government as a Federal Civilian on Fort Lee and is committed to serving the residents in the City of Hopewell.

Councilor Bennett was first elected to Hopewell City Council in 2018 and is serving her inaugural term was soon elected Vice Mayor. She is currently involved with Hopewell’s City Government Transparency Initiative. She has been a champion of the Initiative and has been the impetus for much change regarding the sharing of relevant information throughout the community.
